Prayer Partners
You don't have to pray alone
Our Prayer Partners listen to what you're carrying and bring it before the Lord with you. They pray with and for our patients and staff, and there is no fee.
Caring for the whole person
From the beginning, Fiat was meant to care for the whole person: physical health through primary care and women's health, and mental and emotional well-being through counseling. As we grew, we saw that we were missing a service that would care for another part of the person, the soul.
Today, Fiat has a dedicated chapel and a community of Prayer Partners who serve our patients and staff through intercessory prayer.
Why prayer in the clinic?
We encourage you to stay connected to your parish or church, and to your pastor, priest, spiritual director, and other trusted sources of spiritual care. We also believe prayer has a meaningful place in healthcare that cares for the whole person.
Illness, suffering, anxiety, and discouragement affect us spiritually, not just physically and emotionally. In those moments, prayer can be hard. We may not know what to say, how to pray, or even what to ask for. Sometimes it helps to have someone come alongside you, listen, and bring your needs before the Lord.
What to expect
We believe Jesus Christ, through the Holy Spirit, is the true source of healing. A Prayer Partner will listen to what you share and pray with you, whether for a physical or emotional need, a difficult circumstance, a family concern, or simply for God's presence and guidance.
You're welcome to share your preferences for prayer, devotions that are meaningful to you, and specific intentions. Prayer Partners may draw from Scripture, healing prayer, imaginative prayer, intercessory prayer, and the use of spiritual gifts and charisms. Above all, they invite the Holy Spirit to do the work of intercession and healing.
“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”Matthew 18:20
How to receive prayer
- Email a prayer request. Send your intention to prayer@fiathealth.org.
- Schedule a time to pray. Call 629-252-7880 to make an appointment with a Prayer Partner.
- Ask while you're here. If you're already at Fiat for an appointment, ask at the front desk whether a Prayer Partner is available.
Prayer Partners also pray regularly for Fiat's patients, providers, and staff, both in the chapel and in their own prayer and devotions.
What Prayer Partners do, and don't do
Prayer Partners don't replace your medical provider, wellness coach, counselor, therapist, priest, pastor, or spiritual director. They don't diagnose, treat, or provide medical or mental health care.
Instead, they come alongside you in prayer, in hard seasons and in times of gratitude, bringing your intentions before the Lord and trusting Him with the work of healing. Much of their work happens quietly, behind the scenes, as part of Fiat's care for the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.
Questions about Prayer Partners
Is there a cost?
No. There is no fee to meet with a Prayer Partner. Prayer is part of our commitment to caring for the whole person.
How do I request prayer?
Email your intention to prayer@fiathealth.org, call 629-252-7880 to schedule a time to pray, or ask at the front desk during your visit whether a Prayer Partner is available.
What can I ask for prayer about?
Anything you're carrying: a physical or emotional need, a difficult circumstance, a family concern, or simply God's presence and guidance. You're also welcome to share any prayers or devotions that are meaningful to you.
How is this different from counseling or spiritual direction?
Counselors provide professional mental health care, and spiritual directors meet with you over time to help you notice God at work in your life. Prayer Partners don't diagnose, treat, or offer direction. They listen and pray with you, and many people find prayer helpful alongside counseling or spiritual direction.
Will a Prayer Partner replace my priest, pastor, or church?
No. We encourage you to stay connected to your parish or church and to the pastors, priests, and spiritual directors you trust. Prayer Partners offer support during your time at Fiat.
Can I pray in Spanish?
Yes. Martha Garcia prays with patients in English or Spanish, whichever is most comfortable for you.
Can my family and I visit the chapel?
Yes. Anyone is welcome to spend quiet time in our chapel before or after any appointment, and your family is always welcome to join you.
